Lets Talk Tees
So today I wanted to talk about the underrated Graphic Tees! As the graphic designer of the dunno pair Morgz and Rach im always on the look out for cool funky graphic tees. A funny, catchy, well designed graphic shirt can set the mood and change an entire look. The best place to find unique and afforable tees is your local thrift shop, but more importantly the mens section. If you buy these tees at your forever21 or urban outfitters yes that are cute, but you also have to worry about that awkward encounter of another girl wearing the same shirt as you. (has happened to me on serval occasions when I was young and nieve.) Also tees are fun and great to D.I.Y. on. Weather its cutting them up to convert that baggy old boys shirt to a fun and spunky crop top/ muscle shirt, or using the magical power of the household chemical called bleach to add the extra effect, mixing it up is always great! Personally I love to design my own graphic tees and print them at our school, and than spray them with blech to give that grunge effect to the outfit! Below I have attached all sorts of graphic tees that inspire me!

Thriftin' Tip Thursday
Thriftin' Tip Thursday
Our Top Ten Thrift Tips to Lift by:
1. Go with a buddy.
2. Start with the sweaters in winter, skirts in summer
3. Look in the odd sections such as Men's t-shirts and Kids section. You never know what you might discover.
4. Know your store, read entry board or call to learn about deals and special days
5. Try everything on!
6. Go with inspiration/ an open mind
7. Don't be overwhelmed by low prices (if it doesn't fit or is gross then don't buy it even if its a good price)
8. Everything can be reworked or altered
9. Don't get caught up in sizes. Sometimes an XL will fit even a size 2.
10. Have fun!
Happy Thrifting!

Glowing Explosion
A recent photography project. Heres some pics to enjoy.
For this photography project Rach had the idea that we take glow sticks and cut them. Putting the liquid jell from the glow sticks will produce a galaxy effect. Try it at home!

Why Velvet?
Some of you Rushers out there may come across this blog be asking: Why velvet? What's the story behind the name? And although the main reason might be because velvets pretty awesome, its the only thing we could come up with, and it sounded pretty cool; their is more behind the title then one might think. When you think about velvet some may think of the tacky 70s trend or that grotesque red velvet dress your mom made you wear at holiday party's when you were younger. But this fantastic material has evolved to become so much more. It has made a stellar come back as a sophisticated yet wearable trend that should be reintroduced to your closet. Whether its a velvet button down hunted down at your local thrift short or those sleek black velvet leggings spotted at h&m, this fabric is reappearing every where. Velvet is a daring trend to experiment with. It can be dressed up or grunged down. However, the average dresser isn't use to seeing this trend walk the suburban streets yet. You may get some eyebrows raised or some heads to turn but don't fret, soon we feel that velvet will become a staple that even the yoga pant sweatshirt girl may dream of trying.
In many ways velvet describes Morgz and I. Sometime we feel like the clown fish in a sea of minnows. We were enclosed in a school where a sense of style is scare and yoga pants are the new norm. We are in a sense are the velvet trend. We are the few that branch out from the poorly dressed and unstyled. We don't fear a new trend or to be different. We embrace are individuality and embrace a trend that is unappreciated. We are daring and don't fear the stares or the raised eyebrows. In the short sense we picked velvet because it describes our outward approach and thinking of style.

Inspiration Books
Inspiration is everywhere now a days. You can go on tumblr, pintrest even lookbook.nu for sources of inspiration in fashion. Books are something that are over looked now a days. People take these well thoughout pieces of inspiration for grainted. I personally think a book written by a designer or stylist is well worth every penny i pay for. Books are my number one inspiration for style. Here are a few of my favorite inspirational books that are a must read for all you "rushers" out there.
